IBM Micromedex Drug Info App Reviews

I loved this app so much. It was the best drug reference around. Then I had to buy it, and it never let me access it again. Money down the drain. Im clearly not the only one with this problem. This needs to be fixed! I would love to be able to use it again.

This app now requires you to be connected to WiFi in order to use it. It also requires a daily 5 minute update when you first open it each day.. Which defeats the purpose of having this app when youre trying to quickly look up a medication.

This was my fav pharm app. So sick of its ridiculous updating bugs that Im done with it. So disappointing that a great app is so hard to update and access. I am so disappointed and frustrated. My practice and my patients will suffer because Ive become so dependent on this app but it is so hard unreliable and hard to access. So disappointed.

I agree with all the reviews. This used to be my favorite app for drug referencing in clinic, but now the constant updating every time I open the app is more of a hassle and time consuming that I dont use it as much. PLEASE FIX THIS so it can be more useful to everybody!!!

Where is the zero star? This app is useless now. This app was awesome, but now it updates every time you open it. And you have to be connected to wifi, which is a problem for those of us who dont have access on the job. So when a patient has a question and I need to reference it, it is essentially useless. Get rid of the constant updates and go back to the old way!!!

This app self-updates every single time you open it, and in my case, it wont do it unless Im connected to wifi. I work in EMS, and there is no wifi network I am ever able to connect to when with a patient. Fix this one problem and everything will be set.

Fix the issue with app updating every time you open it!

The content of this is actually quite good. I am a physician and have used it on a daily basis for sometime and I have not found any serious errors in the presented information at all. It is generally accurate and very helpful. Unfortunately, the application doesnt appear to be. With the recent update, the application wants to update its database every time it is opened even after it times out. This is a problem for me because I do not have cell service in my office and the Wi-Fi is spotty in the hospital - it does not allow you to open it at all unless it updates and it doesnt give you the choice to do so or defer that until later so you basically cannot use it off-line presently. I contacted technical support and they replied promptly. They informed me that with the update to the new operating system there were some problems, which was interesting since I havent updated to iOS 9. I was instructed to reinstall the app using Wi-Fi which worked well with one annoying glitch. When I reinstalled the app you told me that my subscription has expired and I had to purchase it again. I did not think this was the case but I knew it was about to expire in the next couple of months so I purchased it again anyway. Interestingly, once I did I noted in the application subscription information that the subscription actually doesnt expire for another month. Again, Im very pleased with the content and find it to be quite useful. The application needs some serious work, particularly if you have to pay for it every year (or apparently a little more frequently than that).

I was having the same issue with updating every time I opened the app, but deleting and re-downloading fixed the problem!

This App is now worthless to me. I work in a hospital that I cannot have access to wifi. I CANNOT use this app. Please correct this problem!!!

This app was great because I could check on medications while I was at work get exactly the information I needed on new drugs. Now, I cant use it at all because we do not have wifi at work. I understand needing updated information, but at least allow a cellular connection to work. Please fix!

This app was a complete waste of money. I havent really been able to even use it because it ALWAYS, like everyday, says it needs to update and I have to be connected to wifi for that. So, useless for me! Look for another app...this one will drive you crazy.

Cannot open and use on the fly if out of wifi range due to DAILY mandatory update blocks and sign on requirements, which takes time! Not practical if youre a busy provider and in need of quick drug info. Micromedex should address this as were all moving on to other apps!

This was, once upon a time, my go-to app for all medications. Ive always had trouble with the sign-in process after every update, which was annoying, but still has been the most useful and informative app, and I have used it on a regular basis for a few years. However, the latest update has rendered this almost unusable. It wants to update every time you open it. Every single time. And YES, I have deleted and re-installed it, which, of course, led to the same old sign-in issues (wouldnt accept my username/password combo, even though I had learned to carefully store both in my phone for future reference), and it still wanted to update at every use. To make it worse, it is only able to update on wifi, which I have at home, but not at the multiple places I work daily. So I hope this gets fixed FAST, or Ill have to give up on Micromedex.

I need quick and timely access to pharmacotherapy info daily at work. I have used this app for years and absolutely love it. Like many, I recently had an issue with continuous, annoying updates upon opening the app. I deleted and reinstalled it, and it has worked great since. Highly recommend this as well as the compatibility app.

As physician, the app had been very quick and functional to use from my iPhone. THEN came the upgrade. It must update EVERY time it is used. You must have wifi to do so. I am in and out of suitable wifi in hospital and clinics through the day, therefore I can actually successfully search rarely. Will delete app soon if this is not fixed. My colleagues have same complaints. And to think, it is now a paid app!
